Yesterday, on 17 June 2020, the auction house Sotheby's, has completed the spring "Russian week" in London auction decorative-прикладного art Sotheby's Russian Works of Art. A collection of the auction amounted to more than 250 lots — items from the work of Carl Faberge from European collections, silver, including a rare set from the possession of the Yusupov princes, a selection of icons and a wide range of porcelain; catalogue was sold out by 66.5 % to a total of £2,37 million (about us $3 million).

the three most expensive lots of the auction included just two icons. Top-лотом became the pre-revolutionary image of Christ Pantocrator in the frame work of Carl Faberge, with a very interesting provenance: according to the documents, this icon was supposed to be a gift from Tsar Nicholas II (1868-1917) the king of Montenegro Nikola I (1841-1921), but in 1916 was donated by relatives tea Nikon Alexandrovich Molchanov, from the heirs which came by the last owner. While the estimate of £60-80 million ($75-100 million), the icon for 27, have risen more than five times and was sold for £375 million ($470 thousand).

In the second place — tray icon of the Holy Martyr Alexandra Roman gold frame factory Pavel Ovchinnikov, sold for £68.8 thousand ($86,4 thousand), two steps higher than the starting price. In total, the collection of icons of the 26 lots were sold by more than 60 % and brought a total of almost £610 million ($758,9 thousand).

the Record price for items made of enamel and silver steel round table clock work master Henrik Wigstrom for the firm of Carl Faberge, sold for £60 million ($75 thousand).

special mention deserve the results of sales of works from porcelain. The highest total cost among all the sets and items (the auction featured a wide selection of Imperial and post-revolutionary China) made up two plates, created in Petrograd in 1920-х years. Each of them was sold for £43.7 per thousand ($54,4 million). Differed only in the estimate: a plate with the inscription "3-й international" on the sketch by Alexander Alexandra schekatihinoy-Потоцкой had a preliminary estimate of £18-25 million ($22,3–31,1 thousand), and the plate with the inscription "Municipality", created according to the sketch of Peter Vereshchagin is estimated at £8-12 million ($9,9–14,9 thousand).

Thus, the "Russian week" spring 2020 brought the auction house Sotheby's total of £8 million ($9.9 million). And if in comparison with last year, proceeds of the auction of fine art has fallen by almost half: £10.4 million in 2019, against a £5.6 million in 2020 (which is easily explainable by the specifics online-торгов), the results of the auction decorative-прикладного art, by contrast, has grown: from £1.9 million to £2.37 million "Russian auction" Christie's will start July 1, 2020, but already now we can say that while the Russian art market is going through a crisis better than expected.
