On 27 July, auction house "KABINET" will hold an auction of paintings, graphics and decorative-прикладного art. In the auction catalogue 155 collected lots of rare items from the first half of the XIX century to the works created by our contemporaries

One of the top-лотов auction — costume design "the Striped cat" (1917), performed by M. Larionov for the ballet "Russian fairy tales", choreographed by Leo Massine to music by Anatoly Lyadov. The ballet, designed in the spirit of Russian folk, became one of the most popular performances of Diaghilev's troupe. As pointed out by the organizers of the auction, the work comes from the collection of the artist's widow, Alexandra Larionova-Томилиной, and participated in solo exhibition of M. F. Larionov at the Museum of fine arts of Lyon.

an Interesting lot of upcoming auction — 46 sheets of drawings and notes by S. M. Eisenstein for the play "Macbeth" (1922). The play was staged by the Director V. V. T. on the stage of the Central educational theatre in Petrograd. According to the memoirs of S. I. Yutkevich, who worked on the show along with Eisenstein, the surviving sketches for "Macbeth," talking about "with some regularity and consistency Eisenstein developed a system of images, excited his imagination.
