"Sketch of the head and folded hands of the young man, or the Praying Christ" painted by Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn was the top-лотом auction of Old Masters Sotheby's auction house, held on 5 December in London

This study refers to a group of images presumably of the same young man in the image of Christ. In this series of seven oil sketches, only two are fully recognized works of Rembrandt — sketch "Head of Christ" from the Berlin art Museum and sketch, sold yesterday at Sotheby's.

"a Sketch of the head and folded hands of the young man, or the Praying Christ," 60 years was kept in a private collection and was first granted by the owner to the exhibition in 2011. This was an exhibition at the Louvre devoted to Rembrandt's images of Christ. For her "the Praying Christ" was restored and in the process of restoration found on the two fingerprints — presumably the artist himself. After the Paris exhibition, the owner gave an etude for rent in Rembrandt Museum in Amsterdam, where he was on permanent display until the summer of 2018.
