the Tradition of exclusive manual the books emerged in the early XX century, mainly thanks to the efforts of the famous French gallery owner, art dealer and publisher Ambroise Vollard. In the book of the artist left their mark such masters of twentieth-century art, as Chagall, Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Miro and many others.

Livre d'artiste is a unique creation, created by joint efforts of the publisher, typographer, writer and artist. For any such books are usually made of special paper, as a rule, unique fonts, hand covers and the endpapers, and of course, the illustrations in the original author's techniques of engraving, lithography, etc.

Collecting auction catalog "Livre d'artiste, or artist's Book", the organizers sought to present the diversity of this art form in Russia that has developed over the last 25 years. Among the artists whose works made up the collection auction on 7 December, — and already world famous Russian master of the Livre d'artiste, and budding talented artists books Peter Perevezentsev, Mikhail Karasik, Viktor Hoppe, Mikhail Pogarsky, Vera Klebnikov, Leonid Tishkov, Alexander Pankin, Igor Shelkovsky, Valery Svetlitsky Sergey Yakunin, Vitaly Statsinsky, Vasily Vlasov, Valery Korchagin, Gunel Yuran, Gregory Katsnelson, N. Sinev, Mikhail Molochnikov, Emil Guzairov, Juliana Lysova and many others.
