Treasure of Russian poetry at the auction "Russian enamel"
October 13 auction house "Russian enamel" holds thematic auction "the Poetic heritage of Russia" of rare books and autographs XVIII — XX centuries"
the Pushkin epoch is interesting primarily for two rare editions, compiled and edited by Vasily Zhukovsky only for the Emperor and his entourage. A complete set of the "court almanac" "the Anthill, literaturnye sheets published by unknown society uneducated people" the published edition of 40 copies in 1831. The book was published without censorship, in sale did not arrive and was designed only for a narrow circle of confidants courtiers. Very rare magazine "the Collector", published in 1829 in the amount of only 10 copies and intended for acquaintance of Princess Charlotte (later Empress Alexandra Feodorovna) with Russian culture and language. Both books were extremely rare even in the XIX century, and today copies of them are of the greatest rarity.
the First half of the XX century, presented at auction no less magnificent inflorescence of rarities. Among them the book of Velimir Khlebnikov "Ladomir" (1920) with his autograph poet Petnikova: "Petnikova from Velimir Khlebnikov. I'll see you soon. Velimir". The book was published edition of 50 copies and, according to some studies, has been preserved only in 9 copies. No less interesting is the famous book of the same Klebnikov "Game in hell" (first edition, 1912) signed by the legendary futurist Kruchenykh, where he leads a rare bibliographic data on circulations of the first and second editions of the book.
Another wonderful find for collectors — is a book "the Desecration of the relics of art. Report on combat operations of Nichevoki directed against the bourgeois Mayakovsky". the Book was published in the 1923 edition of just 75 copies. In one of the articles of the publication were asked "to withdraw from tradesman Mayakovsky subscription to suspend the fabrication of poetry."
a Very rare poetic Judaica is represented by book D. gofshtein "Traer", illustrated by Marc Chagall. By the way, it was his second work in book illustration; drawings for the book was created in 1920-х. One of the known sales of the book took place at Bonhams auction where the selling price was $27 500.
the End of the twentieth century represented one of the rare books by Joseph Brodsky "Roman elegies" A. lithographs by tàpies. The copy offered for sale, are "not for sale" and bears the autograph of the great poet.
At the auction also exhibited books autographed by Anna Akhmatova, Fyodor Sologub, V. Ivanov, A. Blok, A. Bely, E. Guro, M. Voloshin, K. Zdanevich, and N. Aseev, V. Mayakovsky, V. Kamenskogo, K. Balmont, Khlebnikov, Igor Severyanin, and many others.
Pre-exhibition opened in the office of the auction house "Antiquarium" (Moscow, Nizhny Kislovskiy lane., 6, p. 2) 4 through 13 Oct (every day except Sunday and Monday, from 11 to 20 hours).
