Old Masters auction at Sotheby's July 3, 2013 put the "View of Avignon from the right bank of the Rhone" brush XVIII century French painter Claude Joseph Vernet. Estimate of work is 3-5 million pounds. The picture has not appeared at a public auction last 200 years, and participated in a public exhibition only once - in 1954.

This is the only landscape hometown Vernet Avignon. Expert on the artist Giuliano Briganti in 1970, called him "one of the best scenery the faithful."
