14 May 2013 on the traditional auction "Beautiful and precious jewelry» Sotheby's in Geneva, will present 22 luxury jewelry works from the collection of the legendary actress, artist and philanthropist Gina Lollobrigida.

The auction will be exhibited Jewelry "Bulgari" 1950-60-ies, which Lollobrigida wore in the most memorable moments of their lives and who were exposed to the international traveling exhibition "" Bulgari ": 125 years of Italian glory ».

Top lots include a collection of earrings, pendants pearls and diamonds, estimated at 0.6-1 million dollar diamond ring (about 1962) weighing 19.03 carats (estimate of 0.6-1 million) and diamond necklace /bracelet in 1954 (estimate 300-500 thousand dollars). Proceeds from the auction will go to benefit research of stem cells. Prior to pre-exhibition in Geneva top lots of the collection will be shown in London, New York and Rome.

Commenting on the auction, Gina Lollobrigida, said: « I had the good fortune to play many roles in life - actress, mother, photojournalist, Ambassador FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. - Ed.), the artist. I began collecting jewelry "Bulgari" in 1950-60's, fascinated by the marvelous craftsmanship and unique style. They accompanied me on many trips, both professional and private, they are associated with memories of the extraordinary people I have met along the way. Now almost all the time I dedicate sculpture. 65 years later I returned to the craft, which I had once studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Sculptor needs little jewelry, so I decided it was time to share them with other collectors. In doing so, I can also help the cause that I think is very important - stem cell research and treatment that should be available to every child. I want to be part of the proceeds from these auctions would help the base hospital in Italy this field in medicine ».
