Top 10 most expensive works of post-war graphics

The best results in 2010

Recently, a French website Artprice.com published a list of the highest auction results achieved in 2010 in a segment of "Postwar Art". The graphics were the most resistant to the crisis: the period from January 2008 to October 2009, its price index fell by only 11%, while the general index of art - 36%.

Furthermore, the segment of graphics, considered to be accessible and not strongly exposed to the influence of speculators in July 2009 increased by 26%. For comparison: the paintings of this period added to the price of just 7%. Market growth charts have not only very successful deals in the category of "Old Masters" (in particular, sale Raphael drawing "Head of the Muses" for 42.7 million dollars ), but also a landmark sale of works of some post-war and contemporary artists.
