Among the lots - the creation of such famous British authors, as Lucien Freud (Lucian Freud) and Gary Hume (Gary Hume). It is expected that trading will bring about 2 million pounds (3.18 million dollars). All of these funds will go to creditors of the company. Lehman Brothers bankruptcy was the largest in U.S. history - the bank's debts amounted to 613 billion dollars.
A few days before the auction their trades from the collection Lehman will hold a Sotheby's . At the sale, to be held September 25 in New York, planned to rescue up to 10 million dollars. At the tender will 450 works of contemporary artists, the top lot is an installation by Damien Hirst (Damien Hirst). On 7 November more than 250 works from the collection will be auctioned Freeman's in Philadelphia. The catalog includes works by famous artists of the twentieth century, like Robert Mangold (Robert Mangold) and Sol Levitt (Sol LeWitt). Freeman's already held two sales for Lehman; the auction held in November of 2009, buyers have found 100 per cent of the works.
