«Dancer» Gino Severini was sold at Sotheby's for 29 million dollars

Top-fathomable held yesterday evening, an auction of works of the Impressionists and modernists Sotheby's has become a picture of the famous futurist Gino Severini «dancer». A large canvas of one of the most famous Italian artists were sold to anonymous buyer for 15 049 250 pounds (29 615 419 USD). At least five bidders fought for this picture, whose estimeyt of 7-10 million pounds.

Yesterday was beaten the previous record for Severini works, set in May 1990 at Sotheby's in New York. Then his picture «Sea = Dancer» left over 3.6 million dollars.

Melanie Klor, head of impressionist and modernist Sotheby's, explains the extraordinary success of his paintings at auction brightness and decorative. Vivid works even now in vogue: except Futurists, the world auction record beat German and Austrian expressionist .

Yesterday's auction also broke the record for the total value of sold products. Tenders have 102 of 246 500 pounds (201 210 887 dollars). This is the highest results ever achieved by auction of works of the Impressionists and modernists Sotheby's in Europe. The upper limit of estimeyta entire block of submitted bids, was 95 million pounds. Five works have brought more than the sum of 5 million pounds ( «dancer» Severini, «The Beach in Truville» Claude Monet, «Head of Woman (Dora MAARIV)» and «Bust Musketeers» Pablo Picasso, «Three-reaching Rights I» Alberto Giacometti).
