A collector has a chance pribresti «unknown Grigor'eva»
Sotheby's Auction will be traded three works by Boris Grigoriev, «forgotten» 60 years
In the museum's storerooms American Berkshire (Berkshire Museum), is a private collection of works of art in the city Pittsfild, State Masachussets, were found three of the Russian emigrant artist Boris Grigoriev, written, apparently at the end of 1920 -- ies, that is, during his stay in the United States Grigor'eva. All three works are in museum in 1948 from the collections of Josephine and Florence Crane boil. Since then, the picture is not displayed and not made public.
According to the staff of New York auction house Sotheby's, these works will be exhibited for sale 4 Nov, 2008 with a total estimeytom in 10.3 million dollars. According to the head of the Russian Department's New York office houses Sotheby's Sony Bekkerman newly acquired paintings Grigorieva - the best of the emerging market, except, perhaps, his paintings «Faces of Russia», part of collection of Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskaya, bought by Alisher Usmanov and sent them to Constantine Palace in Strelna.
This finding is particularly relevant today, when the demand for Russian art in the world is increasing at the expense of interest to him by rich businessmen from Russia and CIS. Russian collectors do not have time to assess the quality of the paintings of Western Grigor'eva private collections, presented at exhibition « Time to collect », as they have a chance to become the owner of several of a similar level of one of the most talented artists« Russian foreign ».
expected to lead top-auction on 4 November will be the picture Grigor'eva «Dudochniki», which is rated at 4-6 million dollars. Starting price of other work the artist, the largest of all his paintings, «Man with pipe», equivalent to 600-800 thousand dollars. The third cloth, «Shepherd Hills», will go under the hammer for a minimum 2,5-3,5 million dollars. Although some work Grigor'eva, 2006-2007 sold for more than a million dollars (in particular, a double portrait «Children» went under the hammer for 1.8 million), estimeyty two of the newly acquired works by the artist far exceed these amounts.
