The tender pieces of postwar and contemporary Russian art at auction house Sotheby

Trades postwar and contemporary works of Russian art at auction house Sotheby's had 5706 million dollars. Auction 130 lots included: the work of Oleg Vasiliev, Komar and Melamid, Oscar Rabin, Evgeny Rukhin, Ilya Kabakov, Svetlana Kopystyanskoy, Alexander Kosolapov, the team of artists AES + F, and others, ITAR-TASS news agency.

Earlier in the morning session, the auction of Russian art masterpieces of the nineteenth century brought 30.4 million dollars. At the auction was put up 191 lot: works by Ivan Aivazovsky, Arkhipov Kuindzhi, Ivan Shishkin, Alexei Bogolyubov, Nicholas Roerich, Konstantin and Vladimir Makovsky, and other masters.

On the morning the most expensive bid was a recognized master of landscape painting Arkhip Kuindzhi «Birch Grove», which went under the hammer for 3.65 million dollars for the evening - which consists of 32 original paintings complete the album «Poletevshy Komarov» Moscow kontseptualista Ilya Kabakov, sold for 445 thousand dollars.
