One of the most daring Museum robbery is likely to remain unsolved
Conspiracy, carelessness, accident? Somehow the FBI lost a key piece of evidence in the case about the robbery of the Boston Museum Isabella Stewart Gardner, which in 1990 made masterpieces for about 500 000 000 dollars
Specifically, this assessment aside, it is obviously much too high. But the fact does not change. Boston robbery 1990 — is still a big mystery and a bleeding wound for the Museum community. 27 years ago, robbers broke into the Museum, tied up the guard and methodically made from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum masterpieces of Vermeer, Rembrandt, Degas, Manet — a total of 13 works — why-то passing by other equally valuable works.
the Investigators considered all the versions: partner among the guards, ordering the crime boss — everything. The most important evidence in the case was the tape (gray tape) and the handcuffs that criminals have immobilized the two guards. They could potentially stay microparticles — sources of DNA robbers. In 1990-м year DNA-анализ was not as well developed as it is today, so today would be a good idea to check again. But oops-с, evidence where-то gone away. In 2010, they were sent for examination to the laboratory, and after research of their marks were lost.
Loss of evidence may be the final blow to years of investigation. Crime is likely to remain unsolved, unless where-то won't come up stolen items. The Board of Trustees, meanwhile, has increased the reward for information about the crime to $10 000 000. In the meantime, as all these 27 years, on the walls of the Isabella Stewart Gardner near the masterpieces are hanging empty frames from the stolen paintings — as a symbol of hope that the canvases they will one day return.
