In Scottish manor found a picture of Raphael
Before Madonna was considered a copy of a brush of an unknown artist, but after restoration and detailed studies experts believe that this is the original Raphael
First drew attention on the time-darkened painting, hanging high above the doorway to the estate of Haddo house (Haddo House), art historian and presenter of BBC Bendor Grosvenor (Bendor Grosvenor). As he spoke, from-за poor lighting and yellowed varnish the work detail was barely discernible, but he used to always carry a flashlight and binoculars, and therefore could see the master's hand.
As it turned out, this "Madonna" in the early XIX century was considered to be a work of Raphael. In 1841 it was exhibited in London alongside other acknowledged works of the master from Urbino himself. But the status of the picture downgraded to a copy made by someone-то of his followers. In 1899 the "Madonna," then attributed to Renaissance artist of the first row of Francucci Innocenzo da Imola, evaluated a total of 20 pounds (by today's standards of about 2000 pounds). If the authorship of Raphael is proven, the price will soar to 20 million pounds.
"She's just too good to be work Innocenzo", — says Grosvenor. The expert persuaded the national trust for Scotland, in whose possession is the picture, and Haddo house in General, to restore the "Madonna". Cleaning web from the layers of yellowed varnish revealed "a work of extraordinary beauty" and "amazing" quality. "You're standing in front of her and think: how did he do it, — that usually happens with all the works of the great masters", — says Grosvenor.
Further research revealed a colorful layer preliminary sketches that talks about the composite search of an author, and clearly proves that this is not a copy and an original work.
