In a telephone interview with RIA Novosti, he said that in the process of writing the script, he had the Parallels between Michelangelo and Andrei Rublev. "Make a picture of Michelangelo no less difficult than Rublev, @- said Konchalovsky. @- I think that only a Russian can today shoot a picture about Michelangelo because we are just in the XV century, in Renaissance".
