Scholars have questioned the authorship of the two works attributed to Bosch
The work "Christ carrying the cross" and "the Seven deadly sins and the four last things" were probably made not by Jerome Bosch, who-то from his contemporaries
Two famous works, regarded as the works of Hieronymus Bosch, apparently, are imitations, written, however, at the same time someone from his contemporaries. This was reported by Dutch media. This is the so-called "Top" (the work "the Seven deadly sins and the four last things", about 1500) and the work "Christ carrying the cross" (1515-1516.).
To such conclusions experts came after several years of research in the framework of the "Project for the study and restoration of Hieronymus Bosch". This program, launched in 2010, was focused on the study of the early works master@
, Scientists were able to compare different works by Bosch, using an infrared reflectography, macro in high resolution and other modern technologies. "Together with the study of paintings under a microscope, all these techniques allowed us to compile detailed reports on the status of the work," reads the project website. The team of experts were representatives of the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, University of Nijmegen (the Netherlands) and the University Arizona@
If authorship Bosch "Countertops" and the work "Christ carrying the cross" was questioned, the picture "Landscape of Hell", previously considered the work of the artist's students, by contrast, was recognized as the work of bocha@
the Painting "Christ carrying the cross" is now in the collection of the Museum of the Belgian city of Ghent, and the top "Seven deadly sins" belongs to the collection of the Prado (not so long ago, the Museum wanted to collect a Fund of the national heritage of Spain under the pretext that in the Prado work came for safekeeping during the Civil war, but its real owner is the national heritage Foundation).
