The dust from the walls of the British Parliament becomes an art object
New York-based artist Jorge Otero-Pailos will cover the section of the wall of the Palace of Westminster hi-tech latex, then skinned it with all the age-old dust and dirt and turn it into a work of art
Conservative British Parliament decided to experiment in the field of contemporary art. Fashionable new York artist and architect Jorge Otero-Pailos (Jorge Otero-Pailos) were allowed to establish in the Palace of Westminster work within the framework of its project "the Ethics of dust". It is a modern answer to the great theorist and art historian John Ruskin (1819-1900), who believed that it is not necessary to clean off the dust from the walls of ancient buildings, because it concluded the age and historical significance. Philos works with high-tech latex, which he puts on the walls of ancient buildings. After drying the latex, he rips the leaves together with a century of dust and dirt (the wall surface is not damaged, stick to latex only pollution). Further connects the leaves in a large canvas — a kind of a copy of the wall that was subjected to this treatment. On the illuminated latex cloth abstract patterns visible from dust, centuries settling on the wall. It's something like the imprint of the history of the place, and at the same time, the illustration of the problems of environmental pollution. In this way, in 2009, Jorge Otero-Pailos already removed the imprint size of 6 x 12 meters from the wall of the Doge's Palace in Venice. His next target will be the wall of the British Parlament@
