This was stated by the mother of one of those arrested in the robbery. Olga Dogaru, mother of Romanian Radu Dogaru, who is considered the leader of a gang of kidnappers, the police said that when her son and two his associates in January of this year, was arrested , she first hid the suitcase with family pictures in an abandoned house and then buried him in the cemetery of the village Karakliu, and when the village began searches, she burned all seven stolen works in a furnace to destroy the evidence against the son.

Robbery in the Kunsthal in Rotterdam happened on the night of 15 to 16 October 2012 around 3:00 am, burglar alarm is activated, but the police did not have time to arrive at the scene of the crime. With the temporary exhibition, which included works from the collection of the Dutch investor Willem cords, were abducted seven pieces: "Self Portrait" in 1890 by the Dutch artist brush Meyer de Hahn (Meyer de Haan); painting "Girl at the open window" (1898) by Paul Gauguin , two works by Claude Monet in 1901 - "Waterloo Bridge, London" and "Charing Cross Bridge, London", "Reading girl in yellow and white" (1919), works by Henri Matisse, "Head of a Harlequin" (1971) by Pablo Picasso, as well as portrait of "Woman with eyes closed" (2002) painted Lusiena Freud.
