Yesterday, July 4, 2013 The Russian Auction House (RAD) has transferred to the future museum of the First World War, 10 glass negatives relating to Russia's participation in the campaign of 1914-1918.

This group pictures taken in one of the military hospitals. The picture shows a wounded and nurses. Most likely photos taken in St. Petersburg, as this is where they were kept for many years in the collection of one of the old Petersburg photographers. But experts have yet to ascertain the location of the hospital.

Pre may be noted that some of the images is made against the background of the garages. Cars at that time were very rare and possessed by them exclusively aristocratic or very wealthy person. Thus, we can assume that the hospital was laid out in one of the many grand residences in St. Petersburg or St. Petersburg suburbs.

Museum of World War II will be established in the territory of State Museum "Tsarskoye Selo" in the building of the Martial Chamber. It is scheduled to open for the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War, which will be celebrated on August 1, 2014.

In Russia today there is a museum dedicated to this tragic period of our history. Until now, the true picture of events either suppressed or distorted. Originally Ratnaya Chamber was designed by Emperor Nicholas II as a pantheon military glory - a museum to store trophies and historical documents demonstrating the military successes of Russia in the wars since ancient times. She was laid in the presence of Supreme May 3, 1913. The initiator of this project was the Tretyakov HELENA (SM Tretyakov's widow - brother of the famous Moscow art collector). On the anniversary exhibition in 1911, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Tsarskoye Selo, she gave the emperor his collection of articles on the history of Russian war, which became the basis of the future museum.

With the entry of Russia into the hostilities of the First World War trophies are part of a collection that is brought to the front. In addition, the emperor decided to locate here Gallery Knights of St. George. So Ratnaya Chamber was formed as the Museum of the Great War. It was opened to visitors after the February Revolution of 1917, and in 1918, was closed. Some of the exhibits were dispersed by the state repository, the other part is lost. The building itself for almost a century fell into decay, there now are conducted extensive restoration work. Actively in the process of collection of the museum of the future.
