The original installation unveiled in a park at Madison Square Garden in New York City artist Dzhendzher Orly (Orly Genger). The work, named in honor of the famous series of works by Barnett Newman's "Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue," is a gigantic wave of colored ropes, hand-woven in a three-dimensional design of the artist and her assistants.
On the creation of this work of public art took two years and almost a mile of rope nets for catching lobsters. Orly Dzhendzher wanted to give new life to this old material that would otherwise probably would have just drowned in the ocean. The artist has already bought up unfit for lobster fishermen network on the East Coast USA. Matted, smelling the sea tackles were taken in her studio in huge boxes. For two years it has taken to clear the network from the lobster claw, fish scales and other debris that can untwist them on separate ropes, and then link them manually from the elements for a future installation. They were then primed and painted.
When installing the installation author would observe two conditions: that a completely flat lawn of the park have vertical elements and to the park, which all tend to cross without stopping , appeared cozy cubbyhole created by these rope walls, where you can sit and have a rest. In a New York park Dzhendzher installation will be there till the beginning of September, and after the move to the city of Lincoln Park, Massachusetts.
