Commissioner Russian pavilion Stella Kesayeva announced the appointment of the curator of the exhibition in the Russian pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale. They became Udo Kittelmann, director of the National Gallery in Berlin and a number of state museums of Berlin.

Starting work on the exhibition in the Russian pavilion, Udo Kittelmann said:" I am very happy that I was entrusted with responsible oversee and challenge the Russian pavilion at the upcoming Venice Biennale.
Russia is an artist Vadim Zakharov, and it is very important to me. I feel honored that Vadim Zakharov offered my candidature for a curator and commissioner of the pavilion Stella Kesayeva supported this idea, thus continuing our long-standing collaboration with Vadim, which began in the 1990s. I admire the contribution of Vadim Zakharov in contemporary art, his work is continuously developing and feature a unique look and independent creative thinking. His continuing role of the thinker and the protagonist of Moscow conceptualism movement from the late 1970s, has an impact on his work to this day.

In 2013, the Venice Biennale runs from June 1 to November 24, vernissage will take place on 29, 30 and 31 May . The artistic director of the Biennale was appointed Massimiliano John.
