In the Tate Modern gallery in London next year will be the first in 20 years, a full retrospective of Roy Lichtenstein (Roy Lichtenstein). The work of one of the brightest representatives of Pop Art will be presented to the public from 21 February to 27 May 2013. Curator bus Wagstaff (Sheena Wagstaff) prepared this exhibition four years as a result of the five thousand viewed her work she has selected 125 works, most consistent with its concept.
Roy Lichtenstein was famous for his innovative painting technique, inspired by industrial printing methods. He manually reproduced the pattern of printing grid. His first exhibition in 1968 was met with hostility by the critics, but since Liechtenstein has long entered the ranks of the classics of postwar art.
The exhibition will be shown as well-known and little work exhibited from public and private collections. The paintings, sculptures and drawings. To the best exhibits is attributed "Sinking Man" from the collection of MoMA, Look Mickey from the National Gallery of Art in Washington, and Wham! from the collection of the Tate itself.
