A collection of writings and drawings by Michelangelo is now available on iPad
The Vatican library together with the National Geographic channel and Italian firm has released the Froggy Apple app with digitized Vatican Codex of the XVIth century
Collection of writings and drawings by the great Michelangelo is now available on iPad thanks to a new app, prepared by the Vatican Library, the National Geographic channel and Italian company Froggy.
"the Digitized version of the code 3211 of the Vatican consists of 111 1534-1563 manuscripts, letters, essays, poems and sketches", — said the representatives of the Vatican this Wednesday. Among other documents in the Codex has the original versions of many poems by the artist and sculptor Michelangelo, which he later included in his famous "Compendium canzone" (Canzoniere).
"Essays were written on separate sheets of paper, which were then stitched into something like Notepad", — explain the representatives of the Vatican. "Everyone who downloads this app in the Apple online store, can flip through the documents, read comments on the manuscripts, and view a film about the history of the Library of the Vatican and its treasures".
