Maastricht TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) is considered the most prestigious in the world of art and antiques fair. The following year (18-27 March 2011) it will be held in the 24-th time. It is expected that the sale will feature more than 30 thousand items.
According to the site
- Sculpture Gustave Courbet (Gustave Courbet ) "Freedom," more than 130 years ago was considered lost. This is the only instance of a bronze work, whose prototype was created in 1875. Sculpture sells a New York dealer Richard Faig (Richard Feigen). Price - 630,000 euros.
- One of the few self-portraits of the Venetian painter Bernardo Bellotto (Bernardo Bellotto). Painting "Capriccio with a portrait of the artist in the garb of Venetian nobleman, dating from 1761-1767 years, is estimated at 8.2 million euros. Seller - Otto Naumann (Otto Naumann).

TEFAF Showcase
Since 2008, the organizers of the fairs provide novice dealers to participate in special projects under the name TEFAF Showcase. Of the 80 applicants were selected six galleries. Here is a list of participants:

- Elle Shushan Fine Portrait Miniatures, Philadelphia. Specialization - portrait miniatures. Elle Shushan - a renowned expert in this field, whose articles have appeared in professional journals.
TEFAF Paper
last year TEFAF for the first time provided a separate area gallerists, selling drawings, watercolors, prints, photographs, manuscripts and antique books. Buyers have taken innovation to cheer, and in 2011 TEFAF Paper will take place again. The project will be an exhibition of works from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, organized by the museum's director Wim Peybes (Wim Pijbes). It will be presented graphic works of the late XV century, united by the theme of hunting.
TEFAF Organizers also report on the current situation on the art market (Art Market Report), the main theme of which will be selling modernist works and contemporary artists in 2009-2011, as well as market conditions in post-crisis period.
