Record attendance at the exhibition at the MoMA - the highest since 2001
A record number of visitors gathered retrospective of Pablo Picasso
Today, Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that the exhibition of Pablo Picasso, held from 19 April to 15 August 2010, attracted a record number of visitors to the museum - 703 256. This is the highest result of attendance at the MoMA separate exhibitions since 2001 and the seventh result for the whole of more than 50-year history of the museum.
This was the first show which appealed only to an outstanding collection of works by Picasso from Funds MoMA. Were presented 300 works: paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, prints. Collection of works by Picasso MoMA is one of the largest in the world.
the day of the exhibition visited by an average of 6,700 people, and on weekends the number of visitors reached 10,000 a day. The latest exhibition MoMA, which drew more than 700,000 people in about the same number of weeks (17), was the exhibition "Origins of Impressionism" 15 years ago (1994/1995).
