According to the Polish news agency, acquired the painting at auction in January 2010 for 700 thousand zlotys (about 200 thousand euros). The owner wanted to send her to America.
As explained by the representative of the Warsaw customs Talalay Peter (Piotr Talalaj), «when sending valuable works abroad must obtain permission and pay 25%of its value, ie in this case - 180 thousand zl (45 euros). However, the owner wanted to make it easier to send and Renoir in the normal envelope. Now he will have to pay a fine, whose size is determined. Renoir temporarily exhibited in the Royal Palace in Warsaw.
