One of the main attractions in Yerevan, the architectural composition entitled "Cascade", transformed into a center for contemporary art. Opening ceremony will be held on November 7. The Center is named in honor of the chief patron, the Armenian-American businessman Gafeschyana Gerard (Gerard Cafesjian).

Reconstruction of the "Cascade" lasted seven years. Now in its territory, covering an area of 13 thousand square meters, located exhibition space, as well as a visitors' center, shop and a hall for special events. At the foot of "Cascade" opened a sculpture garden, where you can admire the works of such renowned artists as Fernando Botero (Fernando Botero), Cheduik Lynn (Lynn Chadwick), Jaume Plensa (Jaume Flensa) and Barry Flanagan (Barry Flanagan).

In the Center of Arts Gafeschyana (such is his full name) will be held with the exhibition of works from the extensive collection of entrepreneur. In particular, there will be presented seven paintings and sixteen drawings of the famous Armenian avant-garde - Arshila . This painter, who emigrated to America in 1920, is considered one of the brightest representatives of abstract expressionism.

In one of the halls, visitors can see the installation of the outstanding contemporary glass sculptor Dale Chihuly (Dale Chihuly). There also will be exhibited works of other well-known artists working with this fragile material - Jaromir Rybak (Jaromír Rybák), Tadashi Sumi (Tadashi Sumi) and Bertil Wallen (Bertil Vallien).

In addition, the Center will host an exhibition of Czech glass sculptures Libenský Stanislav (Stanislav Libenský) and Jaroslava Bryhtovoy (Jaroslava Brychtová). There will be exhibited their abstract sculptures and drawings. The exhibition is called "For Armenia": the artists were very interested in culture and history of this country. Gafeschyan has one of the best collections of works and Libenský Bryhtovoy, which are among the most outstanding masters of the art glass of the twentieth century.

One of the exhibition space devoted to video works created by artists from Armenia and other countries. In addition, there will be demonstrations of various educational films.

In addition to contemporary art, the Center will be on display other items from the collection of Gafeschyana, including a huge model of the ship, which served as a collector during the Second World War, and was released in 1906, the car Model N Ford Runabout and working model of the engine Wabash.

Another exhibition devoted to the works of Patti Boyd (Pattie Boyd) - one of the most famous models of the 1960's, the former wife of George Harrison (George Harrison) and Eric Clapton (Eric Clapton). The exhibition includes 50 photos from her past 40 years. The images of the Beatles, Clapton, and, of course, itself Boyd.

One of the galleries is designed specifically for the monumental works of art glass. There will be presented to the installation Jaume Plensy, Howard Ben Tre (Howard Ben Tre), and the studio Diller Scofidio Renfro. Nearby is a hall for special events, whose entrance is decorated with the work of Dale Chihuly.

In the Center for the Arts will be held lectures, film screenings, concerts and educational events for adults and children. The first day of work will be Sunday November 8.
