Today, October 13, in one of the largest libraries in the United States - Brooklyn - will be held the evening, which will show films from the documentary series "Provincial Museums of Russia". This cycle is truly a unique project that has been implemented for ten years by "Positive Film" with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications. The artistic director and author of the idea of the project is well-known filmmaker Alla Russia Surikova.

To date, the cycle is more than forty 26-minute film, which explores the life of Russia's heartland. Geography of the project covers the area from the Baltic Sea to Siberia.

The heroes of these films - museum staff or those citizens whose lives are closely linked with museums - people enthusiastic about their work, being ill for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage of his native land.

Viewers have the opportunity to look round in the museum store and learn about the displays and exhibits, which are unlikely to be available to the ordinary man, because the authors try to describe the cycle of museums, non-loud status, visit the hidden corners, towns of provincial Russia, many of whom are known not only foreigners but Russians.
