Larry Gagosyana New gallery opens this fall in Athens
Coming soon to a gallery of Greek Gagosyana Larry (Larry Gagosian). It opens this fall in Athens (at 3 Merlin street). Director of the gallery will be Marina Livanos (Marina Livanos), successor to the shipping magnate George Livanos (George Livanos).
In addition to the Greek, the empire Gagosyana consists of eight galleries: three in New York, two in London, one in Rome and one in Beverly Hills. In addition, the art dealer has an office in Hong Kong.
From 29 September to 19 December 2009 in Athens will host the first gallery exhibition where you can see paintings by American artist Saya Tuombli (Cy Twombly). Creativity Tuombli also dedicated exhibition in one of New York galleries (980 Madison avenue, 15 September - 31 October 2009). It will be presented eight new sculptures of the artist.
Maybe the decision to open a gallery in Athens, was motivated by the fact that in Greece live a very active collectors of works of art. In list of Top-200 collectors, compiled by the magazine ARTnews , joined the three sons of Greece: Dakis John (Dakis Joannou), Daskalopulos Dimitris (Dimitris Daskalopoulos) and Dinos Martinos (Dinos Martinos).
