Today, August 14, Contemporary Museum of Calligraphy marks exactly one year. The building the museum held a grand ceremony to be attended by partners and friends of the project - known calligrapher, the diplomatic corps, heads of cultural institutions.

One year, seemingly very short time. However, during that time Russia's first museum dedicated to the art of writing, was able to achieve much, including the official membership of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

Last year the museum has passed many significant events that have caused great attention in the cultural life of the country, among them: the Day of Slavic written language, the festival of Japanese culture «Sakura», a special exhibition «The mystery of the world Calligraphy», multiple master classes are well-known calligraphers.

So far in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Calligraphy presents outstanding works of artists, calligraphers from all over the world. The collection is regularly add to the unique work of art. Among them are handwritten Russian Federation Constitution, the Declaration of Independence of the State of Israel, copperplate roll «Neither of the day without a line», The Decalogue (or «Ten Commandments») and many other masterpieces from all over the Earth.

In celebration of the birth of the museum will be a presentation of new exhibits. The main presentation will surprise the world-famous masterpieces of art sacral letters - Tsar mezuzy listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The exhibit, previously stored in a private collection in Jerusalem, the first time presenting the general public.
