Saatchi reward talented children
The English newspaper The Sunday Telegraph and the gallery of Charles Saatchi (Charles Saatchi) established a new award in the arts. It may qualify for students under 18 years of age. The winner will receive 2 thousand pounds, and his school, get the whole 10 thousand. These funds should be spent on the purchase of computer equipment and all that is necessary for the lessons of art. School came second and third place will receive 5 thousand pounds, the students - by 1 thousand. In addition, the Saatchi Gallery will be arranged exhibition of winners.
To participate in the project are students from all over the world. You can apply until 28 August. The names of the prizewinners will be announced in October. Throughout the contest Saatchi gallery will display works by the participants. Photographs of works will be published on the site of The Sunday Telegraph.
The jury prize includes artists Peter Blake (Peter Blake) and Anthony Gormley (Anthony Gormley), art critic of The Sunday Telegraph by Andrew Graham-Dixon (Andrew Graham-Dixon), art director of the Institute of Contemporary Art ICOs Ishun (Ekow Eshun) and the head of Kids Company Batmanghelidzh Camila (Camila Batmanghelidjh).
