In Florence the Uffizi Gallery are struggling with wood larvae eat priceless creations, and in the Paris Grand Palais

Invaluable masterpieces stored in the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, came under attack, seemingly, a very small but very formidable force. This is the larva of beetles, grinder, feeding timber, which had already damaged several works from the museum collection. Despite its modest size (only four millimeters), this voracious substance absorbs the immortal works of great authors that were written on wooden boards, frames, stretcher and wooden sculptures, not sparing a single museum in the world.

Manual Italian galleries decided to focus the fight against these pests. They took the help of professionals who have developed an effective and relatively inexpensive way to destroy these insects with the help of nitrogen. This timber is not damaged, and the level of temperature, humidity and pressure remains unchanged. After treatment with nitrogen to a tree caused deltametrin, which creates a protective barrier, preventing further penetration of insects.

Since last September, in the Uffizi were disinfected 96 works, and at least 20 works in urgent need of professional assistance. They include such masterpieces as the «Battle of San Romano» work Uchchello Paolo (Paolo Uccello), «Altar Annalena» Lippe Filippo (Filippo Lippi) and «Altar Portinari» Hugo van der Gusan (Hugo van der Goes).

Guidance Uffizi is also planning to connect to the restoration of damaged works of sponsors who will be asked to take care of any creature, and to fund his treatment.

While in Italy are struggling with the pest in France ÒÁÚ×ÏÄÑÔ beneficial insects. Beekeeper Zhant Nicolas (Nicolas Geant), established the hive on the roof of the Grand Palais in Paris, said that the bees pollinate the flowers, not only in the vicinity of the palace, but also, possibly, throughout Paris.
