One of the Venetian palazzo was recently discovered rare fresco depicting the triumph of Napoleon's Austerlitz. This work is part of a series of works created in honor of the victory of the French commander of the combined armies of Austria and Russia in 1805, was written at the beginning of the XIX century Venetian painter Giovanni Carlo Bevilakkua (Giovanni Carlo Bevilacqua). However, later on fresco forgotten, and re-opened it only recently, during the restoration of Venetian palazzo Loredana. Now it is considered one of the few paintings depicting Napoleon, preserved in the city.
Palazzo Loredana once dwelt one of the generals of Napoleon, Louis Barage d'Ile (Louis Baraguey d'Hilliers), who was the customer frescoes.
After the restoration, which lasted about ten years old, located in the palace of the Institute of art, literature and science in Venice, which opens its doors to visitors on 18 April.
