Italian experts provided the audience cleared and restored the picture of Raphael Santi «Betrothal of Virgin Mary» (Sposalizio della Vergine). The last time this famous artist's work held by the Milanese Brera Pinakoteka, was repairing a small in 1958, when one of the visitors hit her hammer, damaging the canvas at the elbow and abdomen Assumption of the Virgin Mary. However, full restoration was conducted much as a half-century ago, during which she heavily darkened.

Restoration to last about a year, was carried out with maximum care for the glass cabin, erected around the painting directly in the hall. Specialists also restored neoclassical gilded picture frame, decorated with miniature portraits and figures of mythical animals and flowers. Rafael finished «Betrothal of Our Lady» in 1504, when he was 21 years old. He wrote this work for the Church of St. Francis town Chitty di Castello (Perugia). Rafael borrows a lot for this picture with his teacher Perugino. In the latter has a similar job with the same title, held in the French town of Qana.
