Moscow International Salon of Fine Arts is canceled
Swiss company Art Culture Studio, which is organizing the fair «Moscow International Salon of Fine Arts» (Moscow World Fine Art Fair) has announced that this year's Salon will not happen. The reason for the abolition of the fair - a lack of sponsorship funds.
Sixth account saloon had to go from 25 May to 1 June. Applications for participation brought 60 dealers. Usually, the contributions of participants covered by renting the Manege, where the fair and the cost of the event take on sponsors. The company receives from them an average of 3 million euros. According to the Director of Art Culture Studio Sikstin Kratchfild (Sixtine Crutchfield), this year's failure to collect such amount of money, and reduce the fair does not want to.
In addition to the art dealers involved in the cabin of a company selling jewelry. And for half the rent, they spread more than the gallery. This year, from their own stands refused famous jewelry brands Bvlgari and Harry Winston. According Kratchfild, they are influenced by a Russian luxury retailer Mercury, who invited them to show the jewelry at its booth.
As the director of Moscow Exhibition of Fine Arts Tousi Chogovadze, lifting up to 2009, does not mean the end of the fair. Organizers hope that in 2010 they will be able to hold a salon.
Another art fair, organized by Art Culture Studio, - Salzburg International Exhibition of Fine Arts - the company decided not to cancel. The event should take place in August.
