After 20 years storage of a sculpture by Richard Serra, a quarter of La Défense in Paris

Sculpture Richard Serra (Richard Serra) , which is 20 years in storage, may again rejoice Parisians look. Composition of steel called Slat has recently been installed in the area of La Défense - the business quarter of the French capital. Until then, it nearly 5 years in prostoyala Puto, a suburb of Paris, but in 1989 the mayor of the city decided to remove the sculpture, which became the object of vandalism and is already carrying on a street painting graffiti artists.

Serra is a piece of five 25-ton steel plates, which leaned towards each other and create a high structure, in form reminiscent wigwam. Due to the heavy weight it was decided to establish a «refuge» immediately after the Great Arch of La Défense.

It should be recalled that recently, in the literal sense of nonexistence back and another sculpture of the outstanding masters of our time -- «Ravnyy-parallelnyy/Gernika-Bengazi» (Equal-Parallel/Guernica-Bengasi). Or rather, the audience saw its exact copy, made the author a few years after the Museum of Contemporary Art Reina Sofia in Madrid «lost »it in the early 1990's.
