Louvre named the most popular museum of France
Head and largest museum of France - The Louvre - for the year 8.2 million people visited. Versailles, the second most popular National Assembly of the Republic, saw 5.3 million people, the newspaper Le Figaro, referring to the Ministry of Culture of France.
In the ministerial statement noted that tourists are willing not only to huge metropolitan assemblies, but also in local, among which the most popular were Fabre Museum in Montpellier, the palace of Fontainebleau, the Allied Museum boarding ARROMANCHES Cathedral in Narbonne.
The most successful exhibition of the year was the project «From Cezanne to Picasso» in Paris' Orsay Museum (482 thousand visitors). Alain Kirili sculptures in the museum greenhouses, also located in the capital, saw almost 217 thousand people. The exhibition of Egyptian antiquities in the small Valenciennes visited for three months 115.5 thousand people.
According to the Ministry of Culture of France, in 2007 in French museums visited 52 million people. This is 4 per cent more than in 2006-m. For three years, attendance has grown by 9 per cent.
