Oslo Administration announced its plans to move several museums and the main city library at the center of the capital, in the coastal zone, near the port and the newly opened building of the Norwegian National Opera.

The new complex will accommodate Museum Edvard Munch (Edvard Munch), a museum Stenersena in which there are three private collections of Norwegian art, city library and the four divisions of the National Museum of Norway (The Museum of Modern Art, Design Museum, National Gallery, and administrative divisions).

In 2012, the center of the city to move the private Museum of Modern Art Astrup Fernli (Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art), which is located in the new building, built by Renzo Piano (Renzo Piano).
