Stolen expressionism

Last Friday, the museum of the German town of Gelsenkirchen kidnapped three ekspressionisticheskie work: watercolor «Female Portrait» Emil Nolde (Emil Nolde), engraving on wood «head doctor Pauli» Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (Ernst Ludwig Kirchner) and lithograph « Four naked women in the forest »Otto Muller (Otto Mueller).

Unknown man, presumably 27-29 years old, went to the museum about 11 o'clock in the morning and shot a few minutes of work on the walls. The thief took advantage of the fact that at the time there was a change of protection.

German expressionism is now at the peak of popularity. Berlin hosts festival «Ekspressionale» , dedicated to this important area in the history of art. Moreover, in auctions prices for works of art expressionists grow . So that the criminals may be able to get to the stolen works good dividends. Kirchner, Nolde and Muller are the most famous representatives of the «bridge», at the beginning of the twentieth century changed the face of modern art. In their works the artists «Bridge» tried to reflect the passions and impulses that determine human consciousness. German culture, the embrace of a desire to return «back to the roots», representatives raised expressionism on board as media «true German spirit». However, after coming to power of Hitler's art Kirchner, Mueller, Nolde, and their comrades had been declared «degenerative art». Despite the fact that artists «rehabilitated» immediately after the Second World War, their works were to bring the owners of large amounts of relatively recent origin. Stolen paintings «Bridge» estimated at tens of thousands of euros.
