This was stated at a press conference Honored Artist of Russia, led the restoration work in the cathedral Alexander Skvortsov. In the temple, you must enter the tight control of all visits, says the head of the restorers.

At the end of August will mark the 850 anniversary of the church. At the celebration, is expected to visit the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II.

Status of frescoes by Andrei Rublev is aggravated by dust, moisture, and changes in temperature. «The doors did not close. The flow of visitors is huge, constantly burning candles low quality: all of this consumer attitude to an ancient jewel, and provides long-term restoration work », - noted Skvortsov. «You can engage in endless patchwork elimination of problems on the walls of the temple, but the humidity is constantly penetrates inside and destroying the entire painting. The roof is hopelessly outdated. If there is no problem of normalization of temperature and humidity regimes, all the works here will be in vain », - considers the restorer.

Assumption Cathedral in Vladimir is a unique architectural monument of XII century and is protected by UNESCO. Cathedral - the only place on earth, where an area of more than 300 square meters of preserved frescoes of Andrei Rublev.
