Resisting the galleries and auction houses: Is it the end?

Auction houses are beginning to participate in the antique showrooms

Two major European auction houses - the Austrian and Swedish Dorotheum Bukowskis take part in the Fifth Moscow International Salon of Fine Arts, which will be held at CEH «Manege», from 27 May to 2 June, said event organizer and president of Art Culture Studio, Yves Buve. «In recent years the art world has grown both in geographical as well as in economic terms, and between the auction houses and galleries been some opposition. We deliberately included in the anniversary Salon Dorotheum auctions and Bukowskis, to demonstrate: art market is so diverse that it can find a place for all », - said Mr. Buve.

According to Yves Buve, the fact that the fair is working smoothly, and confirms the waiting list: «The number left behind by three times the number of participants in this compartment, which exhibited 82 galleries», - he said.

Sobesednik agency noted that «all the works that fall in the salon, you are tested for the presence of stolen works of art in the Art Loss Register, the official of Scotland Yard. Then a list of exhibits and photos we sent to Moscow in ROSIZO, where Russian specialists are thoroughly checked. This has helped us in the past year to identify the stolen documents, belonging to Peter I », - added the organizer.

It should be recalled that the Paris antique gallery Aristophil, who participated in May in the Moscow Exhibition of Fine Arts, referred Rosohrankulture five archival documents, in different years stolen from Russian facilities. Their market value was estimated at 15 thousand euro. Among these documents was a letter to Peter I, addressed to Prince Golitsyn and dated the year of 1721, signed by Nicholas I chapter of Russian orders and three of paper signed by Lev Trotsky. These documents were previously purchased from a private person in the United States. Letter of Peter I lost in 1950 from the Russian State Military Archive in Moscow, and the chapter was stolen in 1994 from the Russian State Historical Archive of St. Petersburg. «While checking on the part of Russian officials has not been completed, but we hope that the excesses, this time to avoid», - emphasized Mr. Buve.

Finally, call the organizer of the Salon confessed that all of the work exhibited in the foreign galleries are in Russia for temporary importation.

«The point is that even if a work of art and buy the Manezh, it is technically easier to bring it abroad and make a purchase there, than to re here with permission for permanent residence. All exhibits uvezut and then the buyer himself will agree with the carrier on where to deliver them », - said the agency interlocutor. «But - he added - a scheme not only when working with Russian clients, but throughout the world, because in each country, its laws and the tax base, and the many collectors prefer to keep their assembly is not in the country of residence for reasons of cheap ».

Yves Buve owned and managed by Natural, which has existed since 1859 and is engaged in transportation and storage of works of art. Transportation Company carried out two units: the first - Exposition Natural le Coultre - serves museums and similar structures, and the second - Fine Art Natural le Coultre - provides transportation and storage of works by gallery owners and private collectors. Specifics in the second unit is to ensure the «private» warehouses where goods can be stored on a permanent basis. Organization of the Salon is a subsidiary of the company Natural - Art Culture Studio.
