In the meantime, despite the fact that, in order to apply the latest restoration techniques, the main damage caused by the painting «cry», remove or not. The spot, located in the lower left corner of the painting would remain visible. According to the chief custodian of the museum, the decision to leave a noticeable stain due to the fact that the restorers did not want to make any irreversible action. However, the museum hopes that the future may have methods to remove stains from the picture.
