National Museum of Krakow in Poland, opens the first department dedicated to modern Western art. The exhibition, opening of which will be held May 29, will be presented 50 works made for hire from a German art dealer Rafael Jablonka Polish origin.

Jablonka borrowed the Museum of Work for 18 months. It is likely that after the end of this period, works will remain at the museum, but before the end of life of the art dealer, they will be formally considered as his property. The works had been provided free of charge. In an interview The Art Newspaper Jablonka said that 50 works - is just the beginning. In the future, he plans to replenish the collection.
The new collection includes the works of ten artists post: Nobuyoshi Araki, Miquel Barceló, Francesco Clemente, Eric Fishlya, Mike Kelly, David LaShapelya, Sherry Levin, Andreas Slominsky, Philip Taaffe and Andy Warhol. Each of them will be given a separate room.
«Most of these artists have become famous in the 1980's. They are not a band, but their inclusion in the exhibition will allow the museum to get acquainted with modern art in all its splendor and diversity », - said Jablonka. In his tenure as a student, he often visited the National Museum and all the time, wanted to see contemporary art in its rooms.
The National Museum, the first public collection of art in Poland, was opened in 1879. Until the end of the First World War the museum was the largest in Poland. In his department presented the Polish painting and sculpture from XV century to the present day, decorative art, armor, etc. The most famous exhibit is the museum's «Lady with an Ermine» Leonardo da Vinci.
