he spent his Childhood in the village flocks of Kaluga province. He studied at the commercial College in Krivoy Rog (late 1900-х — start 1910-х); in Odessa — at the Odessa art College — State free art studios (1914-1919) К. К. Костанди in the Polytechnic school of fine arts (1921-1926) П. В. Волокидина, Д. К. Крайнева. In 1922 the paintings В. И. Ленину received the award of the society of artists. К. К. Костанди. In 1920-1921 he was in military service in the red Army.

Lived in Odessa, Moscow (1930). Participated in "Windows of GROWTH", drawing for the newspaper "Odessa Izvestia" (1922), "black sea commune" (1925-1927), "Pravda", "Izvestia", "Komsomolskaya Pravda", "Vechernyaya Moskva", "Water transport" (1930).

Performed a genre and thematic paintings, portraits, landscapes. Author paintings: "Portrait of an old worker" (1923), "School of literacy" (1926), "portrait of a Stoker" (1927), "Fisherman" (1928). Lenin created a vast cycle (painting, drawing); pictures — "В. И. Ленин in his office in the Hills" (1936), "В. И. Ленин in flood" (1937), "В. И. Ленин on the armored car at the Finland station" (1938), "the great tomb (the Mausoleum В. И. Ленина in red square)" (1930-40-е), "В. И. Ленин talking to the red guards at the Smolny" (1944, option — 1956), "В. И. Ленин with delegates" (1945), "В. И. Ленин listening to music in the apartment Е. П. Пешковой" (1949), "В. И. Ленин resting" (1949, option — 1959), "the Komsomol — members of the Congress of the Komsomol in В. И. Ленина" (1958), "Lenin in Geneva in 1905 году" (1965); portraits В. И. Ленина (1943, 1944, 1945, 1947, 1953), "В. И. Ленин acts" (1947), "Statement В. И. Ленина on the red square in 1919 году". The author of a series of postage stamps on В. И. Ленине (1963-1964).

From 1932 worked under orders of the Museum of the Revolution. Issued an album of drawings "Vladimir Ilyich Lenin" (Moscow, 1937), "Lenin and Stalin" (М.-Л., 1940), "the Urals in Patriotic war" (Sverdlovsk, 1943). Member of the Board of the Museum В. И. Ленина (1936).

during the great Patriotic war was sent to the Urals (1941), went to the Stalingrad front, has created a series of front-line sketches.

Moscow in the works of artists" (1947), "30 лет of the Soviet armed forces" (1948), Republican art exhibition "Soviet Russia" (1960) in Moscow; "Ural — forge weapons" in Sverdlovsk (1943), "В. И. Ленин in the visual arts" in Ulyanovsk (1960) and others. The Exhibitor of a number of exhibitions of Soviet art abroad: in England (1934, 1945), India (1951), world exhibition in Brussels (1958). His personal exhibitions were held in Odessa (1931, 1939), Moscow (1934, 1936, 1939, 1965, 1971, 1972), Leningrad (1973).

the Honored worker of arts of RSFSR (1946), winner of the Stalin (State) prize (1947; for graphic works, devoted to the life and work of В. И. Ленина), people's artist of the RSFSR (1970).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, among them — of the State Tretyakov gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. А. С. Пушкина Kiev national Museum of Russian art, Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts and others.
