Watercolorist

he Studied at the Institute of civil engineers in St. Petersburg (1876-1882), parallel to the IAH (1876-1884) as a student of architectural Department. In 1896 he was awarded the title artist landscape watercolor painting.

Lived in St. Petersburg (Petrograd). Traveled to Europe, Egypt; about 1896 he made a trip to Venice. The author of numerous views of St. Petersburg and its suburbs, seascapes: "Forest", "Evening at sea", "Gulf Coast", "port revel", "seaside", "the descent from the Exchange", "Petrovsky island", "Near Venice", "Venice. Bridge Realto", "moonlight on the North sea", "the view from the Tuchkov bridge" (all @the end of the mdas 1880-х — 1890-е), "Garden street", "the Neva river", "sea", "Night at the Canary Bay. Lighthouse Goland", "Rising storm", "Tikhvinka", "boats at the pier" (all — 1900-е), "Surf", "the Harbour. Revel", "Foggy day on the Neva, the Twilight Saga. Venice, Illumination channel of lake St. Maurice. Egypt", "Narva lighthouse" (all — 1910-е).

As the architect was engaged in rebuilding apartment houses В. С. Балашева in St. Petersburg (1884). Collaborated with the jewelry company "Faberge".

From 1888 — participated in exhibitions. A member and Exhibitor: the Society of Russian watercolorists (1888-1918, with interruptions; member since 1898); honorary member of the society "Mossanovski Mondays", member of the society of teachers of drawing in St.-Петербурге. Participated in exhibitions: Estonian literary society (1897-1900) in revel; St.-Петербургского (Petrograd) society of artists (1898-1917, with interruptions), Spring exhibitions in the halls of the Imperial Academy of arts (1904-1907, 1909-1913, 1915-1917), a Patriotic exhibition "the War" (1915), Association of artists (1916), society of artists to them. А. И. Куинджи (1918) in St. Petersburg (Petrograd); the all-Russia industrial and art exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod (1896).

the artist's Father А. К. Гефтлера (1885 — not before 1939).

Work is represented in many Museum collections, among them — smfa. А. С. Пушкина, Omsk regional Museum of fine arts. М. А. Врубеля Perm state art gallery, Rybinsk state historical-архитектурный and artistic Museum reserve, and others.
