From a merchant family. Volnoslushayuschego was a disciple of the Imperial Academy of arts (1855-1863) in the class of historical painting in П. В. Басина. In 1856 a sketch from nature was awarded a small silver medal in 1857 for a study from nature — and great for drawing from life — small silver medals. In 1858 he participated in the competition for a small gold medal with the painting "the Calling of Mikhail Romanov on the Russian throne in 1613 году", but the rewards are not received. In 1862 for the program, "John III tearing the Khan's letter" ("John III overthrew the Tatar yoke, breaking the image of Khan and ordered to kill the ambassadors") received a small gold medal. In the same year by order of the Imperial Academy of arts painted a portrait of Empress Maria Alexandrovna (wife of Alexander II) to Kerch Kushinsky maiden Institute. In the fall of 1863 among the fourteen competitors refused to execute the program on a gold medal and was released from the Academy with the title of class artist of 2-й degree.

Lived in St. Petersburg. Worked as a historical painter, genre painter, portraitist. In December 1863 became one of the founders of the Artel of artists, where was in charge of orders and financial Affairs. Performed portrait and other orders of Society to promote artists. In 1865 the portrait of General-губернатора Eastern Siberia М. С. Корсакова he was awarded the title of academician. In the last years of life due to illness lived in the southern provinces of Russia.
