LEBEDEVA (nee Darmolatova) Sarah D.

sculptor, graphic artist, designer, artist arts and crafts.

Studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts (1906-1907), then in a private art school M. Bernstein and L. Sherwood (1910-1913) . In 1914 he worked in the sculpture workshop VV Kuznetsov. In 1911-1912 traveled to Europe, visited Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Rome.

After the October Revolution of 1917 worked in the windows GROWTH. According to the plan of monumental propaganda completed portraits of Jean Danton, Alexander Herzen and the relief of "Robespierre" for Petrograd. Created designs plays of Plautus "Twins" in the First Petrograd municipal troupe. In 1919-1920 she taught at the Petrograd State of free art workshops. In 1922-1923 exhibited his sculptures in exhibitions of the Association of new trends in art.

Since 1925 she lived in Moscow. Traveled to London (1925), Paris and Berlin (1928). In 1926 entered the Society of Russian sculptor, member of the Brigades of sculptors "(eight teams). In the 1930's worked on Konakovo Faience Factory, created a small plastic model. Completed projects monument to Alexander Pushkin for the village Mikhailovskoe Pskov Region (1937), F. Dzerzhinsky (1940), Chekhov (1944-1945) for Moscow , tombstones JF Tevosyan and Boris Pasternak (1961-1963). By extensive portrait gallery of his contemporaries: V. Lebedeva - one of the greatest masters of the Soviet sculpture. The most famous was brought to her portraits and intimate studies naked female nature. In early work shows influences of Impressionism, whose features are preserved in a mature manner, passed through passion cubism. Since the beginning of 1920 sought to combine artistic discoveries of these currents with the principles of realistic images. Job Lebedeva inherent sharp psychology, beautiful and etyudnaya immediacy molding. She worked mainly in bronze, rarely used non-traditional materials such as sheet metal.
