POSPOLITAKI Yevgeny

Painter, graphic artist

Kuban graduated from military school, in 1872-1873 he studied at St. Petersburg College of Construction Ministry of the Interior. In 1873 joined the IAH, but in 1875 was expelled for truancy, and disobeying the orders of the academic authorities.

In 1875-1879 he lived in Moscow. In early 1880 a few years spent in Paris, attended private art academy. Later he lived in Ekaterinodar. Often visited the Caucasus.

worked as a landscape painter. Since 1892 participated in exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Art Lovers, from 1894 - member MOLH. In 1893/1894 exhibited paintings at the exhibition of the St. Petersburg Society of Artists. Held solo exhibitions in 1895, 1902/1903, 1903/1904 (all in Ekaterinodar).

In 1894-1905 served as a teacher of drawing in a girls' school. In 1898 founded the first in the Kuban art educational institution - the school of drawing and needlework. In 1911 he became the founder Yekaterinodar art school. In 1907 traveled to Paris. In 1914 he settled in Moscow.

works are in several museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
