POPOV Lucian (Lukyan) V.
Painter, graphic artist
from a peasant family. He studied at the parish school, three-class urban school in Orenburg, in the Orenburg Neplyuevskom Cadet Corps (graduated in 1891).
first artistic skills acquired in the icon painting studio in Orenburg. Studied at the Drawing School of the Society for the Encouragement of Arts (1894-1896), the Higher Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH (1896-1901) in the workshop of Vladimir Makovsky. In 1899, for now "flooded" won them. NS Mazurina contest Moscow Society of Art Lovers. In 1901, for painting "Quiet" and "With clearance" was awarded the title of the artist and the right of a pensioner's trip abroad.
in 1902 as a pensioner IAH visited Germany and France. From 1903 he lived in Orenburg. He worked as a genre painter, landscape painter. From 1899 - participant of exhibitions (Spring, IAH). Member (since 1903) and exponential TPHV (1900-1914). Participated in exhibitions of the Moscow Society of Lovers of Fine Arts (1899-1901, 1903), the Society of Artists. AIKuindzhi (since 1905).
In 1912 he was elected a member of the IAH.
Popova works are in several museum collections, among them - the State Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery, the Scientific Research Museum of Russia Academy of Arts, Rybinsk State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. The most significant collection of works by the artist has the Orenburg Regional Museum of Fine Arts.
