Biographical details are scarce. Studied at Odessa drawing school (1893-1897), then in the Superior Art School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture at IAH (1897-1904) at P. O. Kovalevsky and Repin, in 1904 was awarded the title of the artist's painting "In the twilight».

worked as a landscape painter. Participated in spring exhibitions in the halls of IAH (1918), Exhibition of artists in all areas of Petrograd (1923). Member of the exhibitor and the Rostov-Nakhichevan-na-Donu Society of Fine Arts in Rostov-on-Don (1911-1917), the Jewish Society for the Promotion of Arts (1916-1917), the Community of Artists (1921-1922). In 1918 participated in the creation of the Jewish section Narcompros.

Further information about the artist contradictory. According to some reports, in 1927 he emigrated to France, settled in Paris. But in 1931 his name appears in the list of participants of the exhibition "socialist construction in the Fine Arts in Moscow (halls of the Museum of the Revolution of the USSR).
